Rodica Review
Anesi Parafango Treatment (Body Tune Up)
Rodica is located off of the Magnificent Mile
within Water Tower Place and upon entering you are enveloped
by a calm ambience. The reason for my visit today? Rodica
is offering a new treat, a Parafango Body Treatment (Parafango
is paraffin that is mixed with special sea mud). A wonderful
body slimming treatment, this wrap is relaxation at its
best, plus a whole lot more… not only does this combination
of paraffin and warm sea mud focus on easing tense muscles,
but it also firms and tones the skin reducing the appearance
of cellulite. Let's check it out.
First I am exfoliated by a Rodica technician
with a cremefoliant, which is rubbed in thoroughly to increase
the microcirculation and allow the skin to emanate a warm
glow. Then, the parafango is applied to my entire body which
produces a sedative, relaxing effect on strained muscles
and body tissues. When the parafango is applied to the skin,
it also stimulates both the circulation of the blood and
the lymphatic flow that helps the body draw out toxins from
around the fat cells. (Who doesn't like the sound of that?)
Next I am covered from the neck down in a cocoon-like thermal
wrap, which aids in improved heat retention to further stimulate
blood circulation for faster relaxation. I am then left
alone with relaxing music playing in the background of a
softly lit spa room. (For optimum results the Parafango
should be left on for 15 minutes, that is if you can handle
intense relaxation for prolonged periods.) Finally, the
wrap is removed and I am finished off with a massage which
utilizes a crème modelage for rehydration and nourishment
to the skin.
After the Parafango Treatment is complete,
my body looks and feels noticeably firmer and appears more
toned. Amazingly effective for losing inches and cellulite,
it's no wonder this treatment has received the nickname
"Body Tune Up".
